I am a fan of Hyundai. I currently drive an 09 Santa Fe that has been flawless for us from new for 75k miles. The new Sonata makes me want to punch a designer.
The issue at hand is the LED's in the lower bumper compared to the headlights. The LED's are a crisp white, while the HID's have more of a yellow tint to them. The clear difference in color temperature is more than enough to make the LED's look like a pep-boys special. It drives me insane whenever I see one.

Google Dame Edna Everage and look at her (his) glasses. All will be made clear.

I can't explain enough how much I HATE with all my might that automakers do this.
If you are going to do an HID headlamp, make it seem like an IMPROVEMENT over the damned yellow badly-brushed-tooth colored Halogen its suppose to be better than.
And the, put the most fake looking, most uncreative design of LED's JUST TO SAY IT HAS THEM.
Im sorry, I hate this.

projector != HID

Yellowish HID's (usually around 4300k) allow for the most light output. Crisp white around 5000k-6000k look more white but offer less light output.
Basically, the yellowish HID's let you see clearer and farther that's why they are usually the OEM light color.

HIDs aren't standard. Projector beam halogens are. Which is what that's a picture of.

That's a projector Halogen, not an HID.

Sorry, projector Halogen. Still, there are right ways to do projector halogens and that Hyundai isn't.

Pretty sure those are projector headlights with regular halogen bulbs. (The Sonata only has HIDs on the Limited & Sport 2.0t, and as part of the tech package on the non-turbo Limited.)
But I do agree, blue/white LEDs with yellow halogen headlights is not a good look. My BMW 135is had the opposite problem: HID headlamps but the angel rings around them came with yellow halogen bulbs. Which I replaced with blue/white LEDs for a more cohesive look.

Older Chrysler 200s are like this as well... bluish led strip over a healthy-piss-colored, halogen projector.
